Throwback Thursday: Baby New Year, 1989

By Kristy Bleizeffer Dec 30, 2015

Throwback Thursday is a series celebrating Wyoming Medical Center’s long and rich history in Natrona County.  Special thanks to the Casper College Western History Center which archives the vast Wyoming Medical Center collection of newspaper articles, photographs and other memorabilia.

In 1989, little David Bower was the first baby born at Wyoming Medical Center, coming in at 5:34 p.m. Jan. 1. The Casper Star-Tribune covered the occasion with this adorable shot of mom and baby.

Bestowing New Year's honors to the first baby born each year has long been a tradition of hospitals across the country, including this one. We can't wait to crown 2016's, whomever he or she may be.

On behalf of everyone at Wyoming Medical Center, wishing you a happy and healthy new year!
